On the early morning of June 23, 2024, Mark Allan Hampton, the director of Grand Slam Club Ovis, passed away at the age of 68. It happened in the Burko hunting grounds, Moduli region, Tanzania. The farewell ceremony will be held on July 12.
Mark was a board member of the Grand Slam Ovis Club and a member of Safari Club International, serving as the co-chair of the SCI record book committee. From 2018 to 2022, he held the position of executive director of the Grand Slam Ovis Club.
Growing up immersed in hunting and fishing, Mark cherished hunting adventures with his wife, family members, and friends. Whether it was hunting squirrels and wild turkey at home, pursuing white-tailed deer on the family farm, or embarking on international hunts for dangerous or exotic game, his passion for the outdoors never waned. Mark also channeled his enthusiasm for hunting and shooting handguns into a prolific career as an author, writer, and columnist for various magazines and publications.
We express our condolences to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues of Mark Hampton.
