Dmitry Germanovich Medvedev, a member of the Club, scientific consultant for CMH projects, scientist, PhD in Biology, and Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Ecology and Tourism at the Hunting Faculty of the V.N. Skalon Institute of Environmental Management at the A.A. Ezhevskiy Irkutsk State Agrarian University, has passed away.
Many members of the club knew him personally, participated in joint hunts, communicated at scientific conferences and seminars, and met at CMH New Year's Eve parties. Dmitry Germanovich was an expert of the inter-actional group of deputies of the State Duma on the improvement of legislation in the field of hunting. Dmitry Germanovich has worked very closely and productively with the Club since its inception. He took part in the collection of genetic material, collaborated with the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution «Federal Research Center for Animal Husbandry NA L.K. Ernst» in the study of the genetic material of snow sheep. He has done a lot to popularise the hunting of snow sheep, to study and preserve the populations of its subspecies.
Dmitry graduated from the Faculty of Game Management at the Irkutsk Agricultural Institute in 1983. He was not only a scientist but also a passionate hunter and a game biologist in the truest sense of the word.
His sudden passing during yet another mountain expedition is a great loss to his colleagues, friends, loved ones, and family. We send our deepest condolences to everyone who knew Dmitry Germanovich.
