Regions Mountain massifs located within the aforementioned countries. Local populations of the Balkan chamois inhabit central regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as south-western Kosovo near the border with Albania. It has been introduced to other areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to certain regions of Croatia and Serbia where it was not previously found.
