Natural hybrid Ovis ammon polii x Ovis ammon hodgsoni. It displays distinct morphological differences from the Marco Polo argali, notably with significantly shorter horn length but generally greater basal circumference.
This hybrid occupies an extensive range along the Wakhan Corridor, spanning the southern Pamirs in Tajikistan along the northern shore of Lake Zorkul near the Afghan border, and extending eastward into the western Tibetan Plateau in China.
