The range of the newly identified northern Altai argali subspecies is located in the mountain range bordering Mongolia and Russia. This area includes the Uvs Province, the villages of Sagil and Bokhmoron, and the northern part of the Bayan-Ölgii Province, including the village of Nogoon Nuur.
