Regions
  • Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): From the Lena River eastward, north of 62ºN latitude, including the Verkhoyansk mountain system, the Chersky Ridge, the Momsky Ridge, and the Kolyma Highlands, as well as other mountains west of the Penzhina River. All sheep harvested within Yakutia are registered as Yakut snow sheep.
  • Magadan Region: The eastern boundary of the range follows the Kolyma River up to its intersection with the federal Kolyma Highway. From there, the boundary follows the highway until it meets Yakutia.
