- USA: Southern Alaska, Cascade Range (Washington State), Rocky Mountains (Montana, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah).
Introduced to Kodiak, Baranof and Chichagof Islands in Alaska, the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, north-eastern Oregon and certain areas of Montana, Colorado and South Dakota.
