The Gilgit region in northern Pakistan, on the slopes of Nanga Parbat and along the Indus River and its tributaries, including the Gilgit, Astore, and Hunza Rivers. Along both banks of the Indus River from Jalkot in the upper reaches to approximately Tungus near the city of Skardu. Along the Gilgit River up to Gakusha in the upper reaches. Along the Astore River up to the Parshing Valley. Along the Hunza River up to Chalta.
