The Arakan and Chin Hills in the south-west and west of Myanmar (Burma). The range overlaps and intersects with the Chinese serow in the north and the Indochinese serow in the east.

* Due to the existing legislative restrictions on hunting these species, such a trophy may be considered if it was harvested with a special permit issued by the competent government authority of the country of origin. Additionally, these species may be included in the rating forms as a photographic trophy, but only under the Super 60 category.
