To promote hunting within the Russian Federation, the administration of the Club of Mountain Hunters has decided to classify the chamois populations in Russia into three geographical groups:
  • West-Caucasian chamois: Krasnodar Krai, the Republics of Adygea and Karachay-Cherkessia.
  • Mid-Caucasian chamois: the Republics of Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia.
  • East-Caucasian chamois: the Republics of Ingushetia, Chechnya, and Dagestan.

* Due to the existing legislative restrictions on hunting these species, such a trophy may be considered if it was harvested with a special permit issued by the competent government authority of the country of origin. Additionally, these species may be included in the rating forms as a photographic trophy, but only under the Super 60 category.
