The unique event had happened in Moscow on March 13th. The intellectual battle between the hunting supporters and their opponents was organized by the non-commercial organization “Our Fund”. The Fund supports the development of the environmental and other socially significant projects. The name of the battle was “"Hunting is good or evil”.
Debaters from the hunters side were:
Nikolay Valyev- The Deputy of the State Duma RF, first Deputy Chairman of the state Duma Committee on ecology and environmental protection.
Tatiana Armileva- the President of “Rosokhotrybolovsoyuz”.
Sergey Yasterzhembsky- the documentary filmmaker, trophy hunter
Their opponents were:
Petr Osipov- the co-founder of the community “Business and the Youth”, the founder of “ Our Fund”,
Igor Mgeladze- the owner of financial group MG Capital, member of the Board of Trustees of “Our Fund”
Nikolay Dontzov- the board member of ifinancial group ITI, the owner of travel portal Turbina.ru and the active travel service Turbina Trip
The debates took place on the boxing ring. Each member had four minutes to announce his/her position and to reply to the opponent question. The member of the opposite team could also ask one question. The debate’s form wasn’t original but the most important thing was that those debates transformed into the useful discussion of urgent problems of our nature management. We all know that there are lots of problems.
The representatives of the hunting community discovered the new class of young, smart people and realized that the cooperation with them could be profitable for both sides. We hope that the hunting opponents think the same. It’s clear that we have to work together.
