Hunting in Uzbekistan

I hunted in Uzbekistan from 27th  to 30th of December. The hunt was organized by the local outfitter   Behruz Abdushukurov and the “Falcon Hunting Solutions” company. Everything was done on the highest level, I talk about service and hunting process.  First day I hunted for the Severtsev argali  in Jizzakh region, the ridge Nuratau. The hunt, including the way up and down, took only 4 hours. I shot from 520 m distance at 16 degrees angle. My trophy was 9 years old male. Next day we flew to Surkhandarya region, Sherabad district, Khatak village. We climbed the Kugitang ridge where I took Bukharan Urial. The shooting distance was 460m. This hunting was also not hard. The climbing took us about 40 minutes. On November 29 we went  for hunting for a Bukharan Markhor. We were ascending about an hour when the guides who monitored the surrounding told us about a group of animals led by  a good size male. The group  was moving to our side. We found them  in 485 meters from us. I shot down at an angle of more than 40 degrees from a very awkward position. It was the interesting adventure. I want to say thank you to the guides who did this hunt so effective. When that hunt was over we flew to Tashkent region (Bostanlyk district) for hunting for the Mid Asian ibex. We spent the night in the Arkbulag gorge and early morning went for hunting.  At dawn we detected the group of ibexes. The distance was about 700 meters. The stones didn’t allow me to take the comfortable position to shoot that’s why I had to make a rather difficult climb and to fire without preparation. My trophy became 11 years old male. It was not the easy hunt. The average temperature was – 10C.  In conclusion, I want to say that it was one of the best and most interesting hunts in my life. Four good trophies were taken in four days. Many thanks to the Uzbek hosts for organizing this wonderful hunt!

Hunting in Kazakhstan II

The continuation of my hunting adventures in Kazakhstand. When the first part of the trip was over we drove to the Alakul district of Almaty region. It took us 17 hours. At 5 am we arrived to the place where were going to hunt for the Dzungar ibex. We spent two hours in the fold with the shepherds and then went to hunt. The number of animals, we saw after leaving the base, made us to forget about long and tough ways and even about the fold.  There was a great variety of animals for all tastes. I didn’t have time to look for the biggest male and got the one which had a good size. I fired to the running aim form 260 m distance and at 35 degrees angle. The fist shot stopped it and the second killed. The hunt took less than two hours from the time we left the fold and came back. The weather was -5C. Thank you very much to the outfitter Aziz Akbaraliev and to my guide Jumagali. Personal thanks to Artem Veselov and to the Profi Hunt company.

Hunting in Turkey

I hunted for the Bezoar Ibex and chamois in Turkey. Hunting for chamois was tough. We didn’t hunt two days because of bad weather and zero visibility. Snow fell earlier than usual. But on the fourth day Lord of the Hunt had mercy on me and I got 11 years old male by the first shot. The shooting distance was 560 m. Hunting for the goat was easy as I expected. I took it in the fist hunting day. My trophy was 8 years old male. Thank you to Ilya Dmitriev for the hunt organization, his support during the trip and the assistance in aiming.

We spent the night in the comfortable house, located on the base and early morning went to the mountains. By dawn we reached the place and began to examine the surroundings. A few minutes later we detected the group of ibexes and several of them had trophy size. I didn’t hesitate and made the shot. It was done from 520 m distance at 30 degrees angle. The male fell like a log. The hunt took one hour and twenty five minutes. Thank you very much to the Profi Hunt company and my personal thanks to Artem Veselov.

Hunting for a Kri-Kri Ibex

I realized my dream about hunting for the endemic Kri-Kri ibex in Greece. It took one hunting day and we managed to finish everything before the authority announced the international quarantine. The hunt was organized on the Atalanti island on November 6th. That kind of hunting differed from others in the time limits and the gun’s choice. You can hunt there with the shotgun only. Time allotted for hunting is from 8 am to 4 pm and just one day. If the hunter don’t get the trophy, he should be transferred to another part of the country. The density of the animal’s population is high there. I’ve got 6 years old male.

Hunting for the Dagestan Tur.

It was the very interesting hunt in Dagestan. I heard a lot about the animal’s density and good trophy characteristics of animals, dwelled there. But one thing is to hear and another one to hunt there! I traveled with son. In the first day we detected the group of 30 males but the wind changed our plans. Later in the same canyon we found the second group of males. The wind was not on our side and the animals began to run from us. Fortunately, I was in time to made all calculations and made the accurate shot. The shooting distance was 348 meters, the shot was done at angle 31*. My trophy was nice 11 years old male which I got by the only shot.
